There were just a couple of Striders who headed along to the Grantham Summer Solstice 10k race held last Friday evening. The start was from Long Bennington and the course was all on road – a few hilly parts but predominately flat. Lots of positives for this race – lots of support throughout from locals & marshals (we heard lots of shouts out for the Stilton Striders which was great), chipped timing, really fast results which were on display and texted straight to your phone…..and most importantly a bottle of beer at the end within a fairly decent goodie bag. Results were Brian Walkling 48.32 (very impressive after a bike ride to the race) and Sarah Procter 48.35. [Sarah]
