Stilton 7 volunteer info
To all our fantastic volunteers for tomorrow’s race – you should have had an email or two in recent days with info. If you haven’t received, please check email junk folder – if you don’t have it let us know and we can re-send.
Provisional Stilton 7 entry list
Now added to the Stilton 7 page is the provisional entry list. Transfers will be accepted through to the end of Thursday evening. There will be no entries available on the day.
We still have 5 unaffiliated runners who have not responded to an email request to confirm their LRRL club. We would remind all runners that the race is for LRRL club members only and without confirmation of the runner’s club, a race number cannot be issued.
Stilton 7 – race full
With a record entry of 500 runners, the Stilton 7 is now full. See you all on Sunday 26th!
Stilton 7 online entries
Further to our previous communications, the remaining 75 places in this year’s Stilton 7 will go on sale this Thursday evening at 9pm (16th February) . The link is as previously sent to LRRL clubs – we have been assured by RunBritain that the race is now appropriately listed and will allow runners without a UKA URN to enter (and tested this ourselves in order to confirm).
————————–
Apologies for the problems caused by Run Britain’s entry system this evening. Despite our best efforts it appears the system was not allowing athletes without a UKA URN to register. This was very much not the intention and we are looking urgently into why this has happened against our expectations. There has been massive demand and since the places were disappearing rapidly with non-affiliated athletes not able to enter, we took the decision to reduce the amount of entries to give us time to sort out this issue.
We have kept back around 75 places due to this issue (the race will likely be showing as full on RunBritain) and will investigate urgently how to fix the system. Details of how and when they will be available will be circulated as soon as we can.

Newsletter – 5 March 2016
Below is this month’s newsletter, with details of upcoming league races (including tomorrow’s Kibworth 6), outruns, races and a running nutrition talk.
28 Feb 2016 – Stilton 7 (LRRL)
More than 450 runners were in Melton on Sunday morning for this year’s Stilton 7 road race, part of the LRRL winter league. On a cool but increasingly bright morning, the race departed from the Stute at Holwell Sports & Social Club, Asfordby Hill, for 2 laps of the 3.5 mile loop.
Tony Woodward from Hermitage and Mark Powell from Leicester Coritanian battled it out for the overall win, with the Hermitage runner crossing the line first in 37.08, 12 seconds ahead of his rival and with Chris Jordan (also Leicester Coritanian) third in 39.12.
The women’s race was won by nearly two clear minutes by Anne Holland of Wreake Runners in 42.28, with Marie Atterbury of Anstey and Louise Insley of South Derbyshire battling it out for second and third in 44.26 and 44.43, respectively.
For host club, Stilton Striders, despite illness, injury and volunteer duties depriving the club of a number of runners, there were some great performances:
45.05 – Luke Eggleston
46.27 – Darren Glover
51.26 – Michael Cooke
51.25 – Andy Nicholls
51.48 – Clive Kent
54.16 – Vicki Lowe
55.35 – Abi Arnott
56.39 – Michelle Farlow
56.55 – Sarah Procter
57.58 – Tam Nicol
58.24 – Harriette Wright
67.29 – Harvey Hopwood
74.24 – Jenny Kent
The club would like to thank all the volunteers, supporters and runners who contributed to a successful event.
