Junior training has now restarted for 2017 on Tuesday and Thursday evenings (for more details see the juniors page). Relevant news updates will be posted on the juniors news page in due course. Either click the links above, or type “juniors” in the search bar.

A fantastic evening, once again, at the Rainbows 100 lap challenge, with 3 teams of Striders joining in the competitive fun at this event which raises much needed charity funds for Rainbows.
A perfect day for spectating at this year’s Clawson 10k, with sunshine and warm temperatures a shock to the system for the runners. 158 started this hilly 10k – the climbs and descents giving it the feel of a fell race. The route would be familiar to anyone who has joined one of our head torch runs from Long Clawson over the last couple of years – although it is definitely a different test in the sunshine as opposed to the dark, wind and rain!
This race is like the Huncote Hash, only shorter and wetter with 6 deep stream crossings on each lap. On what seemed like the first day of Spring, a select bunch of Striders and their children braved the mud and water.
For the children, Emily Walkling came 33rd in the Year 3/4 race, William Walkling came a superb 14th in the Year 5/6 race, followed by Luke Nicholls 40th and Zoe Nicholls 42nd, James Walkling 24th in the tough Year 7 to Age 17 race.
For the adults, Andy Nicholls came 4th and Brian Walkling 11th after having already done parkrun the same day.
Next in the series is the Frisby Fun Run on Saturday 16th April – hope to see some of you there! [Andy]
